Fabulous Friday!

OK, Everycat! You can relax now. The deed is done, and I am happy to report I no longer sparkle on the inside. Or at least, I don't think I do. Life can get back to normal around here, and I can get my usual stinky goodness at the usual times.

I have to spend the next few days resting, because I've got a big adventure coming up. Oh yeah, Mom and I are going to watch some ball drop in New York City later tonight.

Thanks ever so much for all your purrs! I am sending smootchies to each and every one of you. (Monty gets the most, though.)

Feed Me

Hi everybody!

I feel pretty good, no hacking, but no poops either. Honestly, every twenty-seven minutes Mom is checking my litter boxes. Geez Louise! Can't a girlcat have some privacy? All this interest in my pooper is more than just a little bit EMBARRASSING!

But seriously, Mom! I'm HUNGRY! FEED ME! Enough of the teeny tiny servings already. What are you gonna do, wake up at Oh-dark-thirty in the morning and give me foods IF I poop?

As long as we're talking about hacking, YOU, Mom, are the one coughing all over sounding like some long suffering cigarette smoker (which we know you're not). And have you noticed your voice is disappearing, and your nose is honking? You're popping pills and slugging water... Really Mom, the place for you is IN BED... so GO! I'll watch over YOU and you can watch over me.

Wicked Wednesday

When Mom got home from day hunting, she checked my litter box. No sparkly ribbon, and Mom was pretty happy. Me too. I'm not really interested for being known for having sparkly poops.

I had my dinner last night, (nice stinky goodness), but hacked it up a short while later. I didn't even eat all the treats Mom gave me at treat time. Then I hacked those up too.

My tummy's not feeling good.

Later Mom found a big piece of the sparkly ribbon left in the litter box. She's worried I might still have some in my tummy. Me too. And I think I might have a visit to the v-e-t in my future. It's not quite the adventure I had planned.

I think I need some purrs.

Update: I'm feeling a lot better this morning. My tummy's feeling a bit better and I haven't hacked up my foods. Thanks for the purrs!

Second Update: Mom talked to the v-e-t. I have to have smaller portions of my foods more often, and nothing that will upset my tummy. As long as I don't hack up anything, and the sparkly ribbon shows up in the litter box, I am OK. Otherwise I get to visit the v-e-t.
Thanks for the purrs!

Tattle Tale Tuesday

Mom never got to go day-hunting yesterday because her metal masheen couldn't get out of the parking lot out back. There was too much snow for Mom to get out of the way.

She went out three times to push the snow around. Around lunchtime the snow stopped falling from the sky, but the wicked wind picked up and started blowing it around everywhere. It sounded really scary.

You remember this Santa balloon? He's not there anymore. Mom is hoping the wind didn't take him away.

Later, a bean with a snow eating and throwing machine showed up and things really got interesting. The snow got pushed around real good. Now Mom's metal masheen can get out of the driveway.

The sun is out today, but it is still cold. I am thinking about going on an adventure, but for right now it's a secret.

Miserable Monday

It's snowing, and has been for many hours, but that's not the only thing miserable about today.

Remember this? It's my teaser toy I got as a Christymas present. Yesterday I hacked up a hairball, except it wasn't a hairball. It was a piece of the shiny sparkly ribbon from this toy. Mom freaked out big time, and hunted for the rest of it. She had thought she put it where I couldn't reach it.
She was wrong. Mom found lots of little bits, but she's not sure she found all the pieces. She's hoping I didn't swallow more of it.So I'm resting, and Mom's watching.

Update: I have had two good meals since I chewed on that ribbon. Paws crossed!

Second update: Mom found the bit of sparkly ribbon she was looking for. It was in the litter box. (You'll have to use your imagination a bit. I always knew Mom loved me, but now I REALLY know she loves me.) I am feeling much better. Mom called the v-e-t and they told her to watch me. So I'm watching the snow and Mom's watching me. Makes for an interesting day.

Christymas Wrap-Up

A good time was had by all at Mim-may's and Pip-Pay's yesterday as the fambly gathered to celebrate Christymas. Mr Karate and PlusOne played with nerf swords outside for a while. I got lots of goodies, and Mom got what she really wanted - a new pair of slippers.

We're all getting something we don't really want, though. We're getting a blizzard, and it's briging lots and lots of snow. According to this map, we should get between 10-18" of the white stuff.

Mom's gonna do some housecleaning, and we will watch my pals, the guys named Pat, while the snow falls.

Merry Christmas!

Mom and I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Freaky Friday

Mom does a lot of baking at Christymas. She uses a lot of butter. She buys both unsalted (sweet) and salted butter. The unsalted butter is in the blue box. The salted butter is in the red box.

So what gives with this?
Yup, the unsalted butter (that comes in the blue box) has a wrapper with RED letters. The salted butter (in the red box) has a wrapper with BLUE letters. Mom thinks it is really stupid.

So do I, but for an entirely different reason! I'm so glad I'm a cat.

Christymas is almost here!

Merry Christymas for those of you who get it sooner than I do!

Secret Paw!

Omigosh! Mom got home from day hunting yesterday, dragging this big box with her. She thought it was Christymas presents from our friend Rhette to the family. But it wasn't! It was MY Secret Paw package!

It's from Angel and Kirby in Texcats! I can smell them on the box. The box smells pretty good.
Lookit all the stuff... I got a Nip stuffed toy (I love those) and a whole big can of these nifty treats!
LOOKIT! Two GIGANTIC bags of Temp-tay-tions BEEF treats! Omibast... I thought I was gonna faint, but I didn't. And a whole bag of lots of bouncy noisy balls to play with! Woo hoo!

Oh yeah, there were a couple of cat-themed pot holders for Mom. She was wicked happy because she really needs some pot holders. There's a terrific cat teaser toy with THREE interchangeable ends.. one with feathers, one with sparkly things, and other with floofy pink stuff.
Thank you SO much Angel and Kirby. These are AWESOME pressies! I love EVERYTHING. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Now I have a toy I have to attack...

The White Stuff

Mom used up her last stay-cation day of the year yesterday. She called the blue crew (dunno what that means) to come fix the drying monster, made a date with the tooth vet for a crown and called some guys to come feed the heating monster. She worked in the sewing room, and she gave the hot-as-hell box a little workout. She really likes these cookies with the white stuff.
But she says she can live without worrying about driving in this white stuff. (Mom says even though this isn't a lot, this little bit can be extremely dangerous.)

We are not complaining, though. There are lots of folks stuck in airports because of LOTS more snow, and we are worried about our friend Rusty, who lives in La Canada, Catifornia. He has to worry about a mudslide carrying his house away.

Mom has almost all her presents ready, but she still has to wrap them. I know there is already stuff in MY stocking! Woo Hoo! Christymas is coming!

Not My Christymas Stockings...

There's a Christymas poem that mentions "the stockings were hung by the chimney with care..." and these aren't them.

The drying monster broke. It spins and spins, but doesn't blow hot air. So Mom took the clothes out and hung them up around the house to dry.

These are Mom's socks. She claims they are clean, but they don't look pure white because she walks around the house in her stocking feet. Who's she kidding? My paws are perfectly white, I walk around the same house all day, but MY socks are always perfectly clean and perfectly white. Hmph.

Oh! My Secret Paws package is going out today. Woo hoo, Christymas is coming!

Secret Paw Sunday

The Christymas Tree is finally up and decorated. Now Mom needs to wrap the presents. Mom and I went shopping to find some special things for my Secret Paw. We went to a very special store... Lookit this:
Toys! Lots of toys! All kinds of fun toys!
Lookit all these different kinds of foods! Omybast! There was even Duck! (I wonder if duck tastes like chick-hen?) Even the cans are pretty! But the best area in the whole store was this one.I'm not sure, but I think it's heaven.

Saturday Shopping

Lookit! I'm in the new metal masheen! I'm going shopping with Mom!

Here I am at Quilted Threads, Mom's favorite quilt shop. I just LOVE these fabrics!Look! It's Mom's quilt, Letters From Home, on display here.
The very nice ladies who work here said Mom's quilt has been getting all kinds of wonderful comments. Everybody loves it.

I didn't find anything here for my Secret Paw package, so Mom and I will have to keep shopping. This is fun!

1,700 and counting

Mr Karate came over last night, that's why the couch is a bed taking up all the space in the living room. The tree is still not finished, but Mom assures me it will be decorated in time for the big day. I'm gonna believe her, because no matter how much I tease her, she always comes through for me. We got a little Christymas shopping done and we will do more this afternoon. I am almost finished getting my Secret Paws package together. I am hoping it can go out with the man in the bloo long johns tomorrow. Paws crossed.

Mom got a super special thing from the man in the bloo long johns yesterday. It's a picture book, as far as I can tell.Omigoodness, I thought she was gonna have a squee-fest she was so excited, but instead she actually got really really quiet when she turned to a particular page. You'll have to go over to her quilting blog to see what all the excitement was about.

Oh, that 1,700 thing? That's how many posts I have posted since I started blogging. Pretty amazing huh?

Still Waiting...

The Christymas tree is getting bigger, but it is still nekkid. My friend Megan, from Sydney Australia, sent this funny cartoon.Mom says she is going Christymas shopping tonight and that I am coming along! WOO HOO!
I'm ready.

Mom decided to use the tree-in-the-box.

I like napping in it.

Sunday, Tree Edition

The big box containing the Christymas tree is up from the dungeon, and Mom has started to put the tree together. I think it's a terrific napping spot.

Stay tuned!

Getting Into the Spirit, part two

OK, this is the house across the street. Nothing special, but Mom really likes that balloon. You know what I like best?

You have to click the picture to biggify, but the folks who live there forgot to take down all their Halloween stuff before they decorated for Christymas. There's a spider on the second floor railing in front of the Snowman!

Heh.

Getting Into the Spirit

Mom loves Christymas. It's her favorite holiday. Usually she is very prepared. She has her shopping done by Turkey Day and the decorations up the first weekend in December. By this time in December, the presents are all wrapped, and she's been giving the hot-as-hell-box a workout.
This year, she isn't feeling it. She was so focused on Turkey Day and her friends visiting that she completely forgot about Christymas (imagine that!). So she's trying to get into the Spirit.

We haven't got a tree yet, and I know she feels Christymas-y when the tree is up. She wants a real one this year, but that means she has to go out and buy a stand for it, and then figure out how to get a Christymas tree home by herself.

So when she drove home last night, and noticed this Santa in a hot-air balloon on the neighbor's front yard, she smiled. It's really pretty at night, all lit up and glowing.

Thoughtful Thursday

I'm not really yellow. I just look this way sometimes when Mom takes a picture without using the flash. Mom says it's because the light is low.

What I am thinking about is this: Monty, when are you coming out from under the bed or wherever you are hiding?

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Guess who dumped out the pellets from my Breeze box before checking if there was a new bag?

Well, it wasn't ME!

good thing I have two litter boxes!

Tuxie Tuesday

Winter is coming. It is getting cold out, and I have been napping a lot in my heated cat cup. Before I take my morning nap, I like to lie here in the window looking out at the street. It's usually a quiet spot, out of Mom's hustle and bustle workday morning routine, but she caught me and took this picture.

I want you all to know that when Mom posts a photo of me, it is one she has taken recently. I don't like to go back in the old photo albums and show -old- pictures. I want you to see NEW pictures. This one was taken this morning.

Speaking of new, I want to see if Monty comes out from under the bed!

Millie (& Mom) Monday

Mom finally made new curtains for her sewing studio, so she was able to get rid of the red curtains that had been in this window. It made the room too dark.

I have my swap partner for this year's Secret Paw, and I am furry excited. I have to keep that a secret.

Otherwise, I'm still purring for Rudy.

Purring for Rudy

I've got my purr-er purring on overdrive for my friend Rudy. He's Parker's brother, and he's really sick. He has to take nasty medicine and go to the v-e-t about every other day! So, I'm sending all my purrs to O-hi-o so Rudy gets better real fast.

The Christymas decorating is starting! That means the Tree can't be far behind!

Finally Friday

I sure do hope Mom starts the Christymas decorating soon. I'm looking forward to whapping admiring the ornaments.

Thoughtful Thursday & Happy Birthday Brother!

Mom saw this sculpture in Concord. She says she barely fit between in this space. She thought it was very cool, and says it's a real rock.

Uh huh.Now this is a rock. Actually it is Mom's brother, while on belay while climbing up El Capitan in Yosemite Valley California. Mom guesses he is about 1200 feet in the air in this shot (about .36km).

This photo was taken in October. He's one of the oldest (if not THE oldest) people ever to climb El Cap.

It's his birthday today. He's 55.

You can see some of his climbing videos here.

(I'm a cat, and I climb, but this is nuts! May I say again how glad I am to be a cat?)

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Mom and her California friends visited the New Hampshire State House yesterday. They also visited Mom's favorite quilt shop, Quilted Threads.

Me? I stayed home and napped in my heated cat cup!
